We have reviewed old records of incident reponses since 1930. Unfortuately we were unable to find recods for every year. Click on the link to view a graph of the total reponses by year.
02/10/2009 - A fire originated in the kitchen of s single family home on VanDyne Ave. No one was home at the time of the fire, however several pets perished in the fire. The firefighters were able to save 2 dogs. Assistant Chief Sturm deployed the FIT 5 that reduced the amount of damage. The family of 5 had to be relocated.
05/06/2008 - Tanker overturns on I-287 closing it for 18 hours
01/14/2008 - A car collided with a train at the Hamburg Tpk crossing by Apelt Park. The Fire Department had to remove the roof, and pop open the door to extricate the victim.
03/30/2006 - the fire department responded to Ceder St. to rescue a man who was electrocuted while trimming trees.
07/27/2004 - A pregnant woman and her unborn child were killed while traveling on route 23 south
05/12/2004 - Firefighters battled rooftop flames under rumbling, flickering skies Tuesday after a midnight lightning bolt ripped into the chimney and rafters of a Riverdale Parkway home.
03/26/2004 - A truck driver for a sanitation company was killed Thursday morning at the Home Depot on Route 23 when he became pinned between a trash container and the wall.
10/28/1997 - On October 28th a fire started in the ACME in Pompton Lakes. Riverdale was immediately dispatched to assist and remained on scene all day to help fight the fire.
04/15/1996 - the Administrative Building at Valley Spiring Lake burnt to the ground. On arrival fire was showing on all 4 floors.
